The Newport Child Development Center is a leased facility located on the major throughway, NC Highway 70 in Newport. This licensed, Five-Star center* serves 53 children, three-years through five-years old. Services are provided in three full-day classrooms including one blended Head Start and NC-Pre-K class, operating five days per week for six hours and 45 minutes per day.

This Five-Star site is a $1.3 million dollar state-of-the-art facility constructed in 2004 in the Town of Beaufort, and currently serves 95 children. The center has three Head Start classrooms, and one NC-Pre-K blended classroom, for a total of 72 HS children, five days per week, for six hours and 45 minutes per day. This center also has three Early Head Start classrooms, two that serve two-year old children and one that serves one-year old children for a total of 24 EHS children, five days per week, for seven hours per day.

The Duffyfield Child Development Center is housed in a former Craven County elementary school building in New Bern. This Five-Star licensed center offers one blended NC-Pre-K/Head Start classroom, and four Head Start classrooms five days per week, for six hours and 45 minutes per day. The total number of children served is 90.

FRD Danyus is a Five-Star licensed facility located approximately one-mile from the Duffyfield Center. It is the largest of all CCA Head Start Centers, serving 144 Head Start and 32 Early Head Start children. It, too, is housed in a former public school building. FR Danyus offers one blended NC-Pre-K/Head Start classroom, and seven Head Start classrooms five days per week, for six hours and 45 minutes per day. Four Early Head Start classrooms provide services to children, five days per week, for seven hours per day. The total number of children served is 176.

This Five-Star center is located in the Harlowe Community, a small rural setting in the City of Havelock. Housed in a former elementary school, Godette provides services to 126 Head Start children and 24 Early Head Start children. The center offers one blended NC-Pre-K/Head Start classroom, and four Head Start classrooms five days per week, for six hours and 45 minutes per day. Early Head Start children receives services five days per week, for seven hours per day. The total number of children served is 150.

Pamlico Child Development Center is a Five-Star center, located on Highway 55 in Grantsboro. The center serves 62 children, offering one blended NC-Pre-K/Head Start classroom, and two Head Start classrooms, five days per week, six hours and 45 minutes per day. Also, one Early Head Start classroom provides services to children five days per week for seven hours per day.

Craven County Public Schools have programmatic oversight for NC-Pre-K in Craven County and currently provides Head Start services to 70-72 children through a collaborative partnership agreement with Craven County Family Literacy (CCFL) at two sites in the western part of Craven County. The two sites are Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary School in Vanceboro, and James W. Smith Elementary School in Cove City. There are two classrooms at each of the two sites, serving children in blended classrooms, as dually enrolled four-year-olds in NC Pre-K and Head Start. Supplemental funding for this project is provided by Craven Smart Start.
In partnership with Craven County Schools, CCA provides one classroom in this elementary school setting, for children three-to-five years-old, to promote inclusion, to develop social skills, and enhance relationship building with children with special needs.
